GetFreePics License

All photos on GetFreePics can be downloaded and used for free, for personal and commercial projects, under the rules below.

You can

• Use photos for free, for commercial and non-commercial purposes
• Use them on websites, blogs, social media, presentations, books, packaging and ads (except photos marked Editorial use only — see below)
• Edit, crop, recolour and combine them with other work
• Use them without asking permission. Credit is not required, but it is always appreciated: Photo by [name] on GetFreePics

You cannot

• Sell unaltered copies of a photo (for example as a print, poster or stock photo) without changing it significantly
• Upload the photos to another free or paid stock photo site, or build a competing photo collection from them
• Use a photo to suggest that a person shown in it endorses a product, service, political view or cause
• Use photos of people in a way that is offensive, defamatory or misleading — for example in contexts about health, crime, sexuality or politics
• Use the photos to train or fine-tune machine-learning models without our written permission

Editorial use only

Some photos are marked Editorial use only. They show recognisable people, private property, artwork or brands for which we do not hold a signed release. You may use these for news, journalism, education, travel articles and blogs — but not for advertising, marketing or to promote a product, service or brand.

Temples and religious images

Many photos show Buddhist temples and images. Please use them respectfully. In Thailand and Myanmar, using Buddha images in a disrespectful way (for example as decoration on products, tattoos or in jokes) can cause offence and may be illegal.

No warranty

Photos are provided "as is". We take care to check our photos, but we cannot guarantee that every photo is free of third-party rights (such as trademarks, artwork or the rights of the people shown). If you are unsure, contact us before using a photo commercially.
